Much! Annoyance! From! Yahoo!

Humph. So I spend half an hour typing up my directions etc for the Oxford Meet on Saturday, when I go to post, Yahoo! prompts for my password. Fair enough, except that after I enter it, rather than posting the message it dumps me back to the front page. And when I go back to the form, IE has nicely wiped it clean for me. Meaning that I have to type the whole [expletive deleted] thing in again - and of course I then managed to forget to give it a subject...

Thanks to everyone who replied to my plea - I had 20 people
confirmed by this morning, so I've now booked the room. It's right
at the very back of the pub, a conservatory featuring elegant
wrought-iron tables. No, really. If you happen to be the first
there, then the room is booked in my name, but if you mention Harry
Potter, they'll probably know what you're on about. I'll try to be
there by midday (check-in desk duties permitting :), complete with
VSD T-shirt and large purple wizard hat.

How to get there:

By Car: There's virtually no parking, so your much better off at one
of the five Park & Ride car-parks - see http://www.parkandride.net/
for more info and useful maps. The Eagle & Child is on St. Giles,
about 200 yards north of the Ashmolean museum.

By Train: Go out of the main entrance of the station, down to the
road and turn left along the front of the Said Business School (big,
new building with strange spire) and carry straight on for about
half a mile. You'll cross a couple of road, the canal, a couple more
roads (passing the coach station) until you reach a crossroads with
Debenhams on your left and Waterstones bookshop opposite. Turn left
here and carry on for about quarter of a mile, crossing two more
roads and the Eagle and Child should be on your left.

By Coach: Go out of the bus station the same way the coach came in
and turn left. Carry straight on until you reach Debenhams etc and
follow the instructions above.

A simple map of central Oxford can be found at:

The Eagle & Child is on St Giles, about where it says Kellogg.

I'm happy to email my mobile 'phone number off-list to anyone who
thinks they might need extra help finding us on Saturday.

PS. I've just had to re-type this as Yahoo! ate it the first time.
    Grr, arrg!
