A Long-Expected Party

Yes, folks, it's my eleventy-first LiveJournal entry!

Firstly: Eleventy-one posts is too short a time to spend among such excellent and admirable LiveJournalists. I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve. (No, I can't figure out if that's a compliment either.)

Secondly: I've heard news that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is due out on DVD on the 11th of April (UK and US). Allegedly includes 19 additional/extended scenes, interviews with Dan, Rupert, Emma, JKR and Steve Kloves, plus other gubbins.

Thirdly: I would like to make an ANNOUNCEMENT. This is the END. I am going. I am leaving NOW. GOODBYE!

Update: At Rivendell. Elrond has gigabit wireless networking and more Internet bandwidth than the whole of AOL. Ruddy elves always get the best kit. I guess this means I can keep posting, though...

Still amazed that they could release the fillum so soon. Oh yes - that is the correct spelling of the word too !
I would pay good money to be chris@dickson.demon.co.elf . Now that's a top level domain.
*snicker*

You did see that "Elf and Safety" CoS picture from long ago, didn't you?
Sorry, the only way to get a .elf address is to live with 'em, and I'm not sure it's worth it - Elrond was nancying around in a purple dress and tiara earlier on and I'm sure he was giving me the eye...

Suspect I may return home RSN.
They are currently looking at introducing a 2LD here for geek.nz ; would that be of any interest to the assembled company? See here: http://geek.nznog.org/
Firstly: Happy eleventy-first birthday entry! :D

Compliment or not? Depends on which group you're in. I'm planting myself firmly in the first one, thanks.

Secondly: SQUEEEEE!!!! Will have to kidnap some friend's DVD player for my own evil purposes.

Thirdly: *blink* That was dramatic...

Update: RotH -- Return of the Hobbit?

The 'photo the icon comes from was taken over eight years ago. *feels old* Actually, I think my hair's about the same length at the moment - although I wasn't entirely clean-shaven last weekend. As for other hair... *weighs possible comments and decides to make none*

Don't have anything in strawberry *goes to run bath* and my Saucy Bathtime Dip has mysteriously vanished. No bubbles for me :-(

Didn't actually bring any valuables - although am severely tempted by Mithril powerbook, but it's ludicrously expensive even by Apple's standards.

Oh, and that alleged King chappie apparently buggered of down south with some bunch of wierdos over a year ago.
Posting unrelated comments on people's LJs is the new e-mail.

The main Sabrina Online site seems to be offline, but February's strips are up in advance already at
http://www.coax.net/people/erics/sabrina.htm . You might want to stick them on the mirror and help Eric out bandwidth-wise.
Thanks for the reminder. I did actually grab the images this morning, but didn't have time to put them up on the site and work was pretty hectic today. All up and working now. Also discovered more infelicities with table rendering - I have yet to find a single browser that gets it right and already had several hacks in to get both IE and Netscape working. Safari, however, didn't. Further hackery to give sizes to every cell seems to have done the trick. Bleh.

Firstly: Hurrah! *sits down at a table of Tooks with a pint, and watches hobbits do silly Frodo-esque dancing*

Secondly: *marks it on the calendar* Ah, April is Dumbledore month. The next few months seem to be lacking pretty wizard pictures (Hagrid, Ron...) May is good, because that is Gilderoy month. Later on this year I also get Quidditch!Rivalry and TomRiddle!Eyes months, which are both good things.

Thirdly: Can I have the Evil Time clock then?

Update: Orcs get more bloody bandwidth than AOL. Must switch ISPs to MEOL (Middle Earth OnLine) - you get a voucher for a week's lodging at Tom Bombadil's for signing up a friend.
1) Humph. I dance much more sillilly t00bily than those pesky hobbits.

3) I think the Sackville-Rigby-Joneses already have their eyes on it.

4) I thought the Orcs were on AOL...

loff the icon BTW
You dance?! And t00bily? How in the world could we miss to make you dance for us, then? Must repeat Oxford t00bage, and soon. Shall make you dance like an Elf, I shall!

No, I can't figure out if that's a compliment either.

It's not.
Because either you don't care enough to like deserving people, or people do not deserve your liking. Both is not a compliment.

Still, congrats on 111 posts. Have a long way to go there. But then, I'm just out of my tweens in regard to posts. *hangs head and admires her elders silently from the distant corner, as becomes for a hobbit-freshling*
and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I always figured it was a sort of compliment - to some anyway:
I understand it to mean 'a number of you (less than half) I like LESS than I SHOULD (than you deserve).'
That's a compliment to those, right?
Now I could never decide for the rest (more than half) who are not explicitated and are - probably - liked exactly as they deserve - if that is 'a bit' or 'a lot' or 'not at all'.
Which is of course the purpose of the sentence - it says multiple things all at once.

Sorry for the ramble.

And OH ARGh SHITSHITHSIT I missed the chance to buy a permanent account *sulks*
