Rants and Raves

OK, if Windows XP is so stable, how come it's developed an annoying habit of locking up every hour or two? It happened three times last night while I was Y!Ming hermorrine (*flirts*) and already once this morning. Also, my mouse seems to be suffering from occasional possession.

Received a postcard-in-an-envelope this morning, and across the inside of the back of the envelope was written "No room to sign the card - did you guess who it's from?". Ah, that would be my Mother reminding me that she's in warmer climes down on Reunion. *is jealous*

To leiabelle: payback arrived safely this morning. Thanks!

Anyway, off to Bristol to visit my sister (and escape the clutches of LJ) for the weekend.

I find my computer crashes far more often than usual when I'm on AIM, so maybe it's instant messenger software being cack. AIM for Mac is particularly dire, tho, being several releases behind the PC version.

*waves hello*

But once you get to X, there's iChat, which makes it all worthwhile :)
I think my lowly iMac would explode if I tried to cram OSX into it. It's all of two and a half years old, y'know; practically chip jewellery.
I was going to try putting Y!M on the iBook to see if it was any better there. Am now less hopeful...
*flirts back* Y!Ming me... sounds like something I should be going "Ooooh baby" about. ;) *laughs*

Have a lovely weekend! I look forward to talking to you Sunday evening. *mwah*
Yay! Glad the post is dependable. Though I still think the bloody bird's a menace. ;)
Well, he didn't wake me up, so I have no complaints.

XP is sooooooo evil.
Brief history of oddree's XP:
For four months, XP froze at least 3 times a day
When dissertation deadline came near, XP died. Would not restart. Message appeared on black screen: "Operating system corrupt. Delete?" Sometimes it said "Operating system corrupt. Reformat system?"

Just pressed off switch and tried again and again. After 30 or so shots, it loaded as normal.
Decide to use Sony recovery disks (bastards didn't give me a copy of XP, just bundle software disk plus O/S on one disk). Sony recovery disks fucked pooter even more.
Message appeared: "Operating system missinng". Apparently, the CD knew how to take XP off, but not how to put it back on again.
Sony and boyf are in negotiations for new CD (need to check bios settinngs and stuff first). Wondering if they can give me WinME or Win2000 with software bundle instead. XP bites ass!!

*shudders*

That's nasty, even by Windows' standards. Friendly hint: don't go for ME - tried that once. Reverted to Win98 within a day.
