Tonight went to the annual dinner of the Invariants - mostly just because I'll take any excuse to dress up in black tie, but also for the food and the socialising. After the food, we did t00by photocalls before retiring to the bar where silly towers were built from plastic cups and drunken chess was played. On the downside, when I got home, I discovered I'd lost a cuff link :-( Oh, well...

Starter: Artickoke, Palm Hearts and Red Onion Salad
Main course: Breast of Pheasant with traditional trimmings (apparently including crumble topping)
Pudding: Rasberry Sorbet in a Brandy Snap Basket garnished with Exotic Fruits

*sigh* Glasgow uni had such crap societies. Most of them, like the maths, physics and astronomy ones did something fun at the beginning of term to convince freshers to join, and then did bugger all for the rest of the year, apart from the odd lecture - but I will admit that Dr Hendry's Physics of Star Wars lecture was worth going to, even if I knew more SW trivia than he did...

The only black tie events were the graduation balls, and I didn't get to go to one of them considering I still haven't bothered to graduate. I *will* remember this year, I *will*. I don't get to wear my bow tie often enough...

If I decide to re-enroll to do some other subject (*cough* Film, TV & Theatre Studies - I'm getting better at this making-up-my-mind thing *cough*) I'll join the WoD RPing society so I can get some use out of my fake fangs, and the fencing society so I can poke people with sharp sticks. Maybe the musicals society, so I can make an arse of myself singing on stage. Sounds like fun. I was a bit of a hermit undergraduate the first time...
First -- your icon rocks.

Second -- fencing! *bounce* Awesome sport. Not that I'm biased because I do it, of course. It is indeed a great thing to be encouraged to poke people with sharp sticks. :D
