At the third squeak...

For those of you who don't know, the speaking clock is currently working for Comic Relief, featuring Lenny Henry doing silly voices. Dial 123 and the proceeds (10p a shot) go to charity. Off to London to do RIPE courses for the next couple of days, so won't be around much (if at all) on LJ, email etc. New userpic is a cartoon character called Zorak, apparently.

Crikey - scary haircut. I wouldn't mess with you. Trying to remember if I've ever seen you with relatively long hair... probably not. (Well, relative to "relative".)

Was that just a cut or a shave where you ask for a number?

I've never let it get especially long (not like Leo) - although I did try once, but it got annoying and I just gave up. Oh, and its a Number Three.

I wasn't thinking Leo length, I was thinking more like "getting a haircut at the end of the vac and then not getting another one by the end of eighth week" length. :-)

Hadn't thought of Leo for a long while. Wonder if he's got a blog or a journal of some sort these days?

Appears to be a buzz, as far as I can judge - I'd hazard probably a number-four-plus-or-minus-one. Looks good to me, but then nobody asked! :-)

When I was working at Barking nick, I transcribed audio tapes of phone conversations between cops and informers (which is far less exciting than it sounds, I promise). To record the time the conversation started and finished, the officer would phone the speaking clock before and after calling.

I almost wish I was still there. Just for this week.

I didn't really think you would use that for an icon. But it amuses me. You have to see an episode at some point. Zorak is a snarky bastard really... and I suppose you can be occasionally snarky.

Mmmm... maybe we should talk about it in private.

Oh - and I downloaded some episodes for you last night, and I will upload them to the server tonight or tomorrow so you can see them over the weekend. >:D
