At the third squeak...

For those of you who don't know, the speaking clock is currently working for Comic Relief, featuring Lenny Henry doing silly voices. Dial 123 and the proceeds (10p a shot) go to charity. Off to London to do RIPE courses for the next couple of days, so won't be around much (if at all) on LJ, email etc. New userpic is a cartoon character called Zorak, apparently.

When I was working at Barking nick, I transcribed audio tapes of phone conversations between cops and informers (which is far less exciting than it sounds, I promise). To record the time the conversation started and finished, the officer would phone the speaking clock before and after calling.

I almost wish I was still there. Just for this week.
