EVIL [ long string of expletives deleted ] SPAMMERS!!!!!

Grr! Arrg! The spammers have been getting on my nerves even more than usual of late. Firstly, there was a bunch sending their spam with forged From addresses at one of our domains. This of course resulted in me getting piles of complaints from people who don't know how to report spam properly. This evening, however, something even worse came along - a bunch of spammers who have their servers configured with another of our domain names on it - in such a way that any bouncebacks from their spam then end up getting bounced on to me. I got about 2,400 of these in under 40 minutes before I blacklisted their IPs completely (and I can see from the reject logs that they're still flooding in). There went two hours of my evening, and doubtless this will interfere in me getting real work done tomorrow...

Poll #141426 What shall we do with the Evil Spammers?

What punishment do you think should be given to spammers?

Are you looking for a realistic punishment, i.e. jail term or fines, or what we *wish* we could do to them, i.e. pull off their fingernails and pour salt on the open wounds?

I think I answered the question, regardless.
I was looking for either kind of reply, although the latter sort is more entertaining - as some of my alternate personae are trying to demonstrate.
Well, that's certainly a whole new way to stuff the ballot box, love...
Hooray for alternate personae!
Oh, shut up.
Hooray for alternate personae!

I do find them useful. Yes indeed.
Perhaps it is some sort of Oxford disease... everyone going to school there needs to be checked for multiple personalities, methinks.
Chris is in error, I believe. I think he means "put 'em in a longboat till they're sober"
Well, a quick google certainly turns up your version and not his, but there are so many variations out there...

Besides, kudos just for spotting the song I was alluding to with the quit title ;-)
Lore and my answers are scarily similar. I think this means that the correct answer definitely involves flaying and salt.
Hmm. I'm willing to accept that. No point going easy on 'em.

Although I am for some reason now visual Chef singing about is flayed salty spammers...
