Quotes of the day

Bill Gates, in his memo "Toward a Spam-Free Future":
Like almost everyone, I receive a lot of spam every day, much of it offering to help me get out of debt or get rich quick. It's ridiculous.
One of the comments on the BBC News article "If not smacking, then what?":
Parents now have the ultimate sanction: "No Harry Potter". Or worse, you could threaten to tell them that [censored] dies on page [censored].
In other ...er... "news", I've done further LJ style tweakage, in the form of graphical threading on entry pages. Unfortunately, to see it, you'll all have to post lots of comments. Muahahahaha!

Lots? Define "lots."
I see a big bullet point to the left of this entry.

Many a mickle maks a muckle, as discussed, but do many replies make "lots"? :-)
Soon there will be more than just bullet points! Bwahahahaha!

Well, there's a question...

noun 1 (a lot, or lots) colloquial large number or amount. 2 each of set of objects used to make chance selection. 3 this method of deciding. 4 share or responsibility resulting from it. 5 destiny, fortune, condition. 6 esp. US plot; allotment. 7 article or set of articles for sale at auction etc. 8 group of associated people or things. draw, cast lots decide by lots. the (whole) lot total number or quantity. A lot of, as in a lot of people, is fairly informal, though acceptable in serious writing, but lots of people is not acceptable.

Myloveissoliteral!
I'm sure that vamp_zorac and zombie_zorac want to see the graphical threading too. Don't you, fellas?
Well, of course we want in on the action.

Please, don't encourage them...
One of these days I too will manage to prettify my LJ. For the moment I shall satisfy myself with gratuitously posting to yours.

And better than '*censored* dies on page *censored*' parents should just rip the pages concerned out, It's not only a punishment it's also conductive to better behaviour in the future as the pages are held to ransom.

ie, 'Behave yourself today and I'll let you have another three words from the top of page xyz'
Yay! Gratuitous spammage of my LJ!

I'd have to agree that withholding the book would be a much more effective punishment than spoilers - and as an inducement for good behavior rather than getting one disemboweled with a rusty spork.
Aye, but positive reinforcement is never going to be as entertaining to watch as disembowlment with rusty sporks.
oooh... shiny... :)
Man, they so need this on nocturne alley!
I've got a bit of tweaking to do, but I'm happy to publish the S2 code for other people or communities to use - although I do need to test that it all works correctly on a community.
