Credit Card Fraud

I had a letter from my credit card company this morning asking me to call them regarding unusual activity on my account. It turns out that someone has been trying to use a counterfeit card with my details on it to purchase computer equipment. Thankfully, they got the name of the bank wrong, so it has been picked up and the card cancelled (snippety-snip - I should get a replacement next week). You can be sure that I'll be checking my next statement very carefully, though...

I'm glad they caught it. *smooches you and runs out the door*
That coulda been bad - but banks are getting a lot quicker on picking such things up, my parents had the same and although it wasn't intercepted as quickly because the theif had all the correct information they were contacted and once they've confirmed it wasn't their usage it was the banks problem.

Turns out it was some guy working in Argos, but I don't know what happened to him. Personally I hope he was hung. I'm sure that's understandable :)

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you escaped without any fiscal damage.
(ps, spot the deliberate this-message-was-posted-at-half-two-in-the-morning-in-a-strange-and-bizarre-country spelling mistake in the above post. Totally deliberate, am testing you.)
