I'm just a little anxious to get up there and whup E.T.'s ass

Ah, the joys of classic gaming. Simple, yet addictive. Those of you who had an Amiga (or knew someone who had one) may very well remember Deluxe Galaga. It's your straightforward screen-at-a-time shoot-em-up - but with added bonuses, mini-games, weapons shop etc. I probably clocked up more playing hours on that than any other game. Now, the author is making a PC version called Warblade (due to copyright issues with the "Galaga" name). It's in beta at the moment, but very playable and strikingly similar to the Amiga version, just with upgraded eye candy. There are some new features as well, such as profiles that save your personal bests and allow you to earn start-up bonuses. And did I mention addictive? Go! Play! Now!

It is no longer accurate to say that your high score is 1500x time, or even 500x mine. However, there's really not much in it. :-)

Spoilers, please!
The secret is armour - that way when you get hit, you don't lose anything (except the armour, obviously) - keep it maxed out (only 2) at all times when possible. Sometime before level 50 you'll want go get one of the better weapons (hopefully finances should allow this), and if all goes well, you find yourself with 4 lives, 2 armour and War I Plasma. Keep the money high so you can replace armour as needed, and the weapon if you accidentally pick up a power-up for 1/2/3/4 shot. With luck, you can keep going indefinately. Without luck, you pick up a single-shot at the wrong moment, and all that armour and lives isn't enough to get you ro the shop...
