Women are only after one thing - and unfortunately, it's my l33t hax0r ski11z that they want. Yes, folks, it was a fun-filled evening of persuading LaTeX to display and print stuff correctly under Windows, plus the unexpected bonus of installing a network card. And all this on a machine so old it's running Win95 and has a CD-ROM drive that couldn't read my carefully prepared CD-RW. I would at this point make a poor-quality joke about a 3.5" floppy, but it wasn't even mine...
On the up-side, in addition to the free dinner, I was also plied with frozen yoghurt, cookies and chocolate, plus I got to visit the St. Hilda's MCR - how many men have done that and lived to tell the tale? All in all, a pleasant change from an endless stream of evenings spent sitting in front of my computer screen (like I'm doing just now. doh.)
