I'm not quite sure what's going on there, but it certainly smells like fish to me.
Updates: The email I fired off to Amazon has had nothing but a form reply so far. Googling for amkells now turns up my LJ on the first page :)
More updates: The information in this comment does lean towards their legitimacy, but on the other hand, the site appears to be down at the moment...

I give the guy (it has just got to be a guy) several hundred marks out of ten for outrageous cheek, but none for being likely to ever receive an order, or indeed still be in business come March 1st.

If they simply stated on their home page that they had used Amazon to help with their website, people might not be so suspicious.
But on the other hand, a flash website doesn't make up for poor service.
I think I'll stick to dabs.

Hi Alex,
Thank you for providing us with information regarding Amkells. Due to the number of complaints we have had regarding their customer service we have made the decision to remove them from Kelkoo.
Amkells are a legitimate trading company and I don't think you should be too concerned about sending them your credit card details. I understand they have had some distribution problems recently and I hope that these are now being resolved. I suggest that you contact Stuart Johnson on 01268 820218 staurt@amkells.com if you have any further concerns regarding your order.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if your order does not arrive or you do not receive your money back.
Regards

Amkells - once was enough

for it, and receiving no reply from my emails (the help page was also
'under construction') I sent them a further email stating that I
was going to shop elsewhere as they were taking too long and giving me no feedback.
Suffice to say, two months after placing the order and 1 month after
cancelling and buying the goods from another website, the package turned up.
I returned it straight away about two weeks ago and have yet to receive
a refund but I am determined to get my money back whether I have to
make a small claim or take a trip down to Basildon 'wiv da boys'...
BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU WISH TO BUY FROM THEM...
