Punt00bage 2004

Greetings, t00bs! Summer is fast approaching (not that you'd know from the weather), and this year's Punt00bage in Oxford is only five weeks away. The exact dates for those without a calendar handy are Friday 11th June through Sunday 13th June. Hopefully most people will be able to stay over Saturday night, and Friday night is open house too - Sunday is more 'if you need to stay'. I know this is in the middle of exams for some of you, but unfortunately it was the only weekend possible - although there are plans afoot for a mini!punt00bage some time in August.

As usual, this t00bage is open to anyone, but bear in mind that lately they've been more friends-based than fandom based, so if you don't know any of the usual suspects and are coming in expectation of deep discussions of HP, you may be out of luck. The August t00bage will be an invite-only thing.

Tentative plan of action (subject to change pending outcome of poll): Friday night happy hour at Hollywood Cocktails followed by general t00bing chez moi. Meet for lunch at a pub in town, then go punting. Evening plans are a little more vague, but from past experience probably involve copious amounts of alcohol (and possibly an EUD if we can get Cyg drunk enough). Sunday we can probably just make up as we go along. If people are interested, we can go to see PoA at some point, and I have PS and CoS on DVD, so there's the option of MST3King them earlier in the weekend. If you have any other ideas for what we could do, where we could eat, etc, please leave a comment!

I really really reallywant to since I can't go to Chat00bage but it all depends on whether I can get the Friday off from work. But fingers crossed that I will be able to.

My Mods are on the 21st and 22nd, so it depends just how much panicking I'm doing by then. If necessary, floor space on offer to anyone who doesn't mind the fact that I'll be too busy hyperventilating and invoking the Great Old Ones in the vague hope that they'll rise up and chompchompsquelchgrr the whole of maths to be good company.

Um. I mean, I'd like to come to at least something, but can't commit yet. :)

Unless something disastrous happens, I'll be there, but disastrous things have a habit of happening.

I may, or may not, need accommodation, depending on whether I can stay chez x_mass. Saying that I will need accommodation makes it rather more certain that I'll be there, because it removes one less factor of uncertainty.

For the accommodation - I'll probably come up on the Friday straight from work, in which case I'll need a place to sleep on Friday night. However, this plan may change to me coming up on Saturday instead, not absolutely sure yet. Will decide by the end of next week. :)

I am coming but I won't be arriving until Saturday morning so I guess I'll come to wherever lunch is... as long as it's relatively easy to find anyway.

Okey! I'll be sorting out maps closer to the time (as in, when I've got my rear in gear and decided on the where part), and I'll be posting my mobile no. in case assistance is needed on the day.

I'm now almost certain I'll be coming up straight after work on the Friday. The only thing likely to change this is if no one has available floorspace on the Friday night. How's the situation looking on that?

Also, are people meeting at the bar before going anywhere else? In which case, how do you get to the bar?

The floorspace situation is looking pretty empty - it really isn't going to be a problem unless a whole load more people suddenly sign up. I'll post directions to the bar etc tomorrow once I've got my act together.

Sorry to be such a t00b, but I'm still unsure whether I'll be arriving Friday or Saturday - all depends on Jus' work situation.

However, thanks to the maps and the mobile, I'm sure I shan't get lost whenever I actually do turn up!
