[Insert Profound Subject Here]

I'm afraid it's all intellectually downhill after last night's philosophy'n'theology. Instead, I spent the evening catching up on The West Wing and Six Feet Under (note to self: stop dissing American TV) - thanks to E4's trailers I'm now visualising Martin Sheen replacing Christopher Walken in Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice video...

The nice chaps over at Amazon just emailed me to say that (at 00:15) they've dispatched my copy of the new Feeder album, plus associated other stuff for Ogging. In keeping with their recent trend of randomly splitting my orders, the one book is coming separately (but still RSN, honest).

Ah, well, should try and get some sleep before another fun day in the office, then it's up the M40 to the Big Smoke for more Fun With Colos on Wednesday (note to self: take larger book this time).

All I've read in the last six months has been hymns to the creativity of American TV in contrast to apparently hackneyed British output. There's even a standard liturgy: it goes The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, The West Wing. (Nobody else seems to like Scrubs, though, not even C4 which keeps changing its times.) Nonsense, of course, but that's media reporting on media for you.
FWIW, while I may be on the "I love Yankee TV shows X, Y & Z" bandwagon, I'm not into the whole sissing Brit TV thing. It's probably an effect of the media coverage you mention, plus the fact that I watch mainly US imports on [CE]4 (and to a lesser extent Sky 1), that's mostly what I see trailers for. I'm sure there are plenty of worthy UK shows I should be watching if I bothered to find them - then again, I already watch plenty enough TV and don't really need to add any more...
